Can This Company’s Birth Control Patch Disrupt The Contraceptive Market?

Agile Therapeutics, Inc.

From Evofem Biosciences Inc. ’s (OTCMKTS: EVFM) Phexxi vaginal gel contraceptive to Dare Bioscience Inc. ’s (NASDAQ: DARE) Ovaprene, an investigational hormone-free monthly intravaginal contraceptive, the market is never in short supply of birth control products. While the issue of birth control and abortion can be embroiled in continuous debates and controversies, contraceptives have been known to reduce the rate of unintended pregnancies, the need for unsafe abortions, and HIV transmissions from mothers to newborns. The need is strong - a 2020 report by the World Health Organization (WHO) said that among 1.9 billion reproductive-age women (15 to 49 years) globally in 2019, around 1.1 billion women require family planning and 270 million of those have an unmet need for contraception. Disruptive Contraceptive Patch? The rising number of women with unmet contraceptive drugs and device needs could present unique opportunities for industry players. Agile Therapeutics Inc. ’s (NASDAQ: AGRX) Twirla® (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol) transdermal system could be one innovative product with the potential to disrupt the industry. New Jersey-based Agile Therapeutics is a forward-thinking women’s healthcare company dedicated to fulfilling the unmet needs of today’s women. The company’s product and product candidates are designed to offer women more freedom and flexibility through additional contraceptive options. Agile Therapeutics Chairman and CEO Al Altomari, speaking at the H.C. Wainwright 24th Annual Global Investment Conference in September, revealed that the company is currently focused on the growth of its first Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved product Twirla®. Twirla®, the company reports, is the first and only birth control patch delivering a low dose of estrogen. Twirla delivers 30 micrograms (mcg) of estrogen daily, the lowest exposure of estrogen in a transdermal contraceptive option. Unlike most oral contraceptives on the market that women take at least 21 days each month, Twirla® uses just three patches a month. Agile Therapeutics plans to commercialize and upscale Twirla through its business plan — non-retail channel growth driver ( Afaxys GPO ) and retail channel growth drivers (telemedicine providers like Nurx & Twirla’s DTC CTV commercial ). With the growth of Twirla® being the main focus, the company believes that building a U.S. women’s health franchise on the foundation of the patch’s commercial success can enhance value for shareholders. “We have sought out and will continue to explore partnerships and opportunities that leverage our existing infrastructure, including co-promotion and business development opportunities,” Altomari said. Cash On Hand And The Way Forward Agile Therapeutics raised net proceeds of approximately $12.2 million through its at-the-market (ATM) offering in the second quarter of 2022 and $22.2 million in an upsized public offering in July 2022. The company reduced the outstanding principal amount owed to Perceptive Advisors to $3 million with proceeds from ATM. Agile Therapeutics established a new $75 million ATM in August 2022. From the end of the fourth quarter to the end of the second quarter of 2022, the company reduced its quarterly operating expenses (OPEX) from $18.2 million to $11.3 million while still growing Twirla demand by 27%. The company now believes it has sufficient cash on hand to fund operations through the end of 2022. In the second quarter of 2022, Agile Therapeutics realized net product sales revenue of $2.1 million, an increase of 75% compared to the second quarter of 2021 revenue of $1.2 million. Total operating expenses for the second quarter of 2022 were $11.3 million. Non-retail sales primarily associated with the Afaxys partnership are expected to significantly accelerate in the second half of 2022. Non-retail channels experience higher gross-to-net discounting compared to retail channels and therefore the company expects overall gross-to-net discounts to increase as a percentage of gross revenue. Agile Therapeutics intends to use its resources to continue to grow Twirla® and to improve on its performance as it prepares to report third-quarter 2022 financial results and Twirla® growth update in November. One of the Company’s financial goals is to become cash flow positive. “Our focus in 2022 has been on growing Twirla and advancing towards generating positive cash flow,” said Agile Therapeutics Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Al Altomari. “In 2022, we have significantly reduced our operating expenses by redesigning how we work to gain efficiencies and implemented a plan we believe can drive Twirla growth through our Afaxys partnership, connected TV (CTV) campaign, and growing the telemedicine channel. ” Agile Therapeutics is a women's healthcare company dedicated to fulfilling the unmet health needs of today’s women. Our product and product candidates are designed to provide women with contraceptive options that offer freedom from taking a daily pill, without committing to a longer-acting method. Our initial product, Twirla®, (levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol), a transdermal system, is a non-daily prescription contraceptive. Twirla is based on our proprietary transdermal patch technology, called Skinfusion®, which is designed to allow drug delivery through the skin. This post contains sponsored advertising content. Dorai Home Launches Instant-Drying Plant Saucers

Dorai Home

Dorai Home, a leading developer of eco-chic home products that help prevent mold with instant-drying materials, today announced it has expanded its modern essentials product line with instant-drying Plant Saucers. Created with diatomaceous earth, a natural material designed to remove moisture, the saucers help keep counters and floors clean and dry rapidly. To rid homes of moisture in unwanted places, the Plant Saucers were added to Dorai Home’s product line to replace unappealing plastic water trays that are typically found beneath plants. The product's eco-chic design is an elevated approach that enhances a home's aesthetic in addition to protecting floors and counters from water damage. Diatomaceous earth holds up to 150% of its weight in moisture, causing water to quickly dissipate. This prevents bacteria and mold through the elimination of moist environments where these organisms thrive. “Over the years, our customers have inquired about which products they could use to catch water from the plants within their home instead of the standard plastic water trays. We have typically suggested the use of our Bath Stone, but based on customer feedback, we now have our Plant Saucers that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing,” said Alicia DeFinis, CEO of Dorai Home. “It’s a great alternative that reduces water in unwanted places and fits perfectly with your home's decor. We’re continuously expanding our products into other areas of the home through customers' feedback in our journey to maintain clean and chic spaces for people to thrive.” With a natural stone feel, the saucers pair perfectly with house plants to create a nature-inspired indoor environment. The versatile saucers are made from all-natural, non-toxic materials and come in a pair of two with rubber feet to protect your surfaces and floors and promote rapid drying. The Plant Saucers are available in Dorai’s popular slate color and three bundle options: Two small plant saucers (5.5”) - $50 Two large plant saucers (11.8”) - $65 Mixed, one small (5.5”) and one large (11.8”) - $60 To purchase, visit www.doraihome.com. About Dorai Home Dorai Home, eco-chic home products that help prevent mold with instant-drying materials, is a rapidly growing D2C brand that creates thoughtfully designed housewares made of sustainable materials that dry instantly. CITY GEAR LAUNCHES ‘FRESH OFF THE BLOCK’ SERIES SPOTLIGHTING MEMPHIS SNEAKER CULTURE

Hibbett, Inc.

Hibbett, Inc., (NASDAQ:HIBB), an athletic-inspired fashion retailer with more than 1,100 Hibbett and City Gear specialty stores nationwide, today announced the launch of City Gear’s Fresh Off The Block (FOTB), a digital lifestyle series created to celebrate the stories of sneaker enthusiasts from cities across America. The first FOTB project takes place in Memphis, Tennessee and spotlights two inspiring individuals who grew up in the historical and tight knit community of Memphis. The two talk candidly about how the Memphis vibe has shaped their hobbies, interests, musical taste and sneaker style. “Memphis is the birthplace of City Gear and it seems fitting to kick off Fresh Off The Block in this culturally-rich community that has so much to offer from fashion and style to music and basketball,” said Sarah Sharp-Wangaard, VP Marketing, Hibbett. “We are grateful to our partners at Nike for helping us bring this project to life and look forward to seeing these stories gain momentum in more neighborhoods across the country.” The FOTB crew followed and filmed Kennedy Moore and PreauXX in and around Memphis and captured their perspectives and experiences with Memphis street culture. Viewers first hear from Kennedy Moore, @kmoorethegoat, a street baller, actor and comedian who’s love of basketball runs through his blood. He shows viewers around his hometown of Orange Mound, a cultural hub and storied part of Memphis built solely by and for African Americans in 1890. Cameras captured Moore on the court as he shared his true love of all things basketball and fashion. Moore recalls that growing up in Memphis, all the kids would wear all white Nike Air Force 1’s. “Everyone knew that you had to have all white Forces, it’s a rule, don’t come to school without them. In Memphis we’re gonna put a flavor on something. You can give us a basic outfit and we’ll make it feel like the best thing ever. If I have on a basic outfit, but I have on white Force’s, I’m good. And as far as basketball in Memphis, everyone wanted to play basketball and everyone wanted to be like Alan Iverson growing up. My favorite player that came from Memphis is Penny Hardaway. Probably the best player that ever played for Memphis and now we got Ja Morant, we just keep getting better.” Next, the crew meets up with PreauXX, @preauxx, a rapper and performing artist who has strong ties to his Memphis community. PreauXX says his favorite things about Memphis are the people and culture, the ease of navigating the city and the wings. The crew catches up with PreauXX in the studio where audiences hear his musical style, which is as unique as his fashion. “The Memphis music scene is indoctrinated in my sound, the bounce, the rawness of the people. I truly believe if you make it in Memphis you can make it anywhere. We don’t care how fly you are, how much money you have, it’s who you are and that stands the test of time.” Discussing the 40 th Anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1, PreauXX recalls how he was inspired by the Nelly era. “You had to have the Air Force 1 hightop with the tongue hanging out and they had to be crispy. If you step outside with dirty Forces there is something wrong with you.” PreauXX describes his personal style as eclectic, very colorful, very sly, very smooth and luxurious. “I love a shoe that tells a story and stands out in a way that only a few people can pull off. A cream shoe with some natural earth tones is so player to me. Memphis fashion has made me fearless, in your face as much as possible. Not in what I wear, but how I wear it.” FOTB debuts today with two episodes that can also be viewed across multiple platforms including; Hibbett | City Gear, Nice Kicks, and on social channels at @CityGear and @NiceKicks. About Hibbett, Inc.Hibbett, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, is a leading athletic-inspired fashion retailer with 1,117 Hibbett and City Gear specialty stores, located in 36 states nationwide. Tips for Finding Friends as an Adult

YourUpdateTV

Making new friends as an adult can be challenging, and with more people working remotely, socializing and meeting new people organically can be difficult. Recently, Bumble BFF’s Friendship Expert, Danielle Bayard Jackson, participated in a nationwide satellite media tour to highlight the importance of friendships, especially as 90% of women say friends are the family you get to choose in life.* A video accompanying this announcement is available at: https://youtu.be/RjBw9kGkR3M Unlike when you were younger and had a built-in community or network through school or social clubs, adulthood seems to offer fewer opportunities to meet others organically. The increasing number of people working remotely has also impacted many people’s ability to socialize, which may explain why many adults report feeling lonelier than ever before. Here are Danielle’s top tips for finding friends as an adult: Have the courage to initiate – Those who are intentional about making connections tend to have the most meaningful relationships. If you’d rather not approach someone in public, group activities are a great option, as they can unite people over a common interest and organically lead to friendships. You can also use an app like Bumble BFF, the friendship-finding mode on the Bumble app, to potentially meet others! Gradually enter into more meaningful conversations - Be sure to engage someone with safe ‘small talk’ and then gradually reveal more about who you are and what you value. This creates the trust necessary to cultivate something deeper. That trust can become the basis for a friendship where you both feel comfortable sharing and asking each other questions that deepen the relationship. Staying in touch - After meeting up with a new friend for the first time, it’s important to be consistent about staying in touch, especially if there isn’t a scheduled time when you both see one another, such as through a class or planned group activity. These short interactions can go a long way in building and maintaining a new friendship. Give it time - According to studies, it can take 40-60 hours of talking and hanging out for an acquaintance to become a casual friend. This might look different from friendship to friendship, but the general takeaway is that it takes time to build trust, vulnerability, and platonic intimacy. To start connecting with friends in your area, visit Bumble.com/BFF. For more tips, check out The Buzz, where you can learn more strategies to help you make (and keep!) meaningful friendships. About Danielle Bayard Jackson: As a certified women’s coach, Danielle Bayard Jackson emphasizes that friendship is a wellness imperative, ultimately teaching women the power and importance of social connections. She is the Friendship Expert for Bumble BFF, the friendship-finding mode on the social networking app Bumble, and has been called TikTok’s resident friendship coach. A former high school teacher, Danielle now uses her teaching skills as an educator to coach women on ways to navigate common friendship conflicts. As a member of the American Sociological Association, she uses the latest research to create practical, tangible strategies to help women create more depth in their platonic relationships. About Bumble: Bumble, the women-first dating and social networking app, was founded by CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd in 2014. Bumble connects people across dating (Bumble Date), friendship (Bumble BFF) and professional networking (Bumble Bizz). Bumble is built on the importance of equitable relationships and how crucial they are to a healthy, happy life. They've built their platform around kindness, respect, and equality – and their community plays an important part in that. Bumble holds its users accountable for their actions and strives to provide them with an experience free from hate, aggression, or bullying. Bumble is free and widely available in the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and the web. * Based on data that was commissioned by Bumble between November 4-18, 2021 with a US sample size of 5,081 Contact Details YourUpdateTV +1 212-736-2727 yourupdatetv@gmail.com
